No Bolts, No Welds, No Tools…No Compromise

Using steel shooting targets that require no welds, bolts, or tools offers major advantages in durability, safety, and field efficiency. Weld-free designs eliminate weak points that can crack under repeated impact, extending the life of both the target and stand. Bolt-free systems remove hardware that can loosen, shear, or create dangerous ricochet hazards. Tool-less assembly lets shooters set up or break down equipment in seconds, even in remote areas. The result is a tougher, safer, more reliable system that’s easier to transport, faster to deploy, and built to withstand high-volume shooting sessions.

Shooter First “Pro Series” Target System

  • Armored Steel top-to-Bottom (SR500)
  • All frontal strikes will be met with armored plate
  • No bolts to shatter on rifle impacts
  • No bolts to rust
  • No bolts to tighten or loosen
  • No welds to crack over time
  • No tools required to assemble or disassemble
  • 2 minutes to assemble, 1 minute to disasseble
  • Target is modular and individual components can be replaced.
  • Target is not hung with a welded bracket on the rear, which would degrade the steel target plates.
  • Target is reversible for longer service life
  • Multiple target sizes and shapes and easily be swapped
  • Customer can specify target shapes and sizes to meet requirements
  • Target can be transported as a complete unit or in separate assemblies

IMPORTANT SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

  • Target is initially set at 17.5 degrees and swings to 22.5 degrees
  • Post pivots in additional forward/reward arc on impact resulting in a fragmentation pattern directly below the center point of the target.
This means a significant reduction in return fragmentation and ricochet hazards.
  • Target is designed and constructed to allow energy to feely move through the components. Solid joints on other systems result in breakage at those junctures over time. You can literarily hear the target ringing/resonating indicating this freedom.

SR500 vs AR500 Steel | Ballistic Steel Comparison | Shooter First LLC

Why Choose SR500 Over
Standard AR500 Steel?

While AR500 steel has long been used for abrasion resistance and shooting targets, SR500 steel offers enhanced ballistic performance specifically engineered for firearm impacts.

Key Benefits of SR500 Steel

  • Purpose-Built for Ballistics
SR500 is engineered for shooting targets and range use, unlike AR500 which was originally designed for industrial wear applications.
  • Higher, More Consistent Hardness
A guaranteed minimum hardness of 500 Brinell improves resistance to pitting, cratering, and surface damage.
  • Improved Shooter Safety
Reduced surface deformation helps minimize unpredictable ricochets and splash-back.
  • Longer Target Life
SR500 steel targets maintain a smooth, safe surface longer than standard AR500 under heavy use.
  • Strength Without Excess Weight
SR500 can often be used in thinner profiles while maintaining ballistic integrity.
